Before you buy the body buffer.
The questions we get most.
Why not just use a loofah?
Loofahs stay wet for three days, trap dead skin and bacteria in mesh fibers, and most men keep the same one for six-plus months without thinking about it. Independent dermatology research shows measurable bacterial colonization within three weeks. Antimicrobial silicone has no fibers — bacteria has nothing to colonize. That's the entire mechanism.
Does it actually scrub or just slide soap around?
Scrubs. The bristle pattern is firm enough for daily exfoliation, soft enough not to scratch. Most silicone scrubbers fail one of those two — this one is engineered for both.
Will it work on sensitive skin?
Yes. The silicone is hypoallergenic, and the bristle density is firm but not aggressive. Most users with sensitive skin report it's gentler than a washcloth — no rough fiber edge.
Will it waste body wash?
No. The bristle geometry holds and distributes lather instead of letting soap run off. Customers consistently report using less body wash per bottle than they did with a loofah.
How do I maintain it?
Rinse after each shower. Hang to dry — silicone dries in minutes, not days. Once a month, run it through the dishwasher top rack or boil for 60 seconds. Replace every 12–18 months.
Use on my face?
No. Body skin is roughly 2× thicker than facial skin — body bristles will abrade your face, not exfoliate it. The Face Buffer is the same silicone with a softer, denser bristle engineered for facial skin. They are not interchangeable.
Tattoos, piercings, healing skin?
Wait until fully healed. Once skin is healed, safe daily use over tattoos — the bristle won't fade ink or irritate the area. Avoid direct contact with active piercings until the surrounding skin is fully closed.
